Legwarmer season

Herringbone legwarmers from the back
One good thing to be said for colder weather- time to bring out the legwarmers!
These are made out of delectable Wensleydale Longwool DK yarn, left over from a hat I made for Anthony (hence the shortness).

The camera can't really cope with all the fuzzyiness, so this is the best shot I got of the stitch pattern. It's a slipped stitch herringbone pattern, which I think is in a Barbara Walker book. I found a version of it online, and promptly lost the bit of paper I'd printed it on, so ended up unventing it.
These boots are the perfect legwarmer companions:

They have a lowered legwarmer viewing area at the back!

In their honour- I had a go at the classic "knitting in a bush" shot:

I love the stripeyness and stitch patterns. I always want to make leg warmers [I have 3, none of which match] but I think my legs and wardrobe are just not accomodating. What do you wear on top?

I just stayed with someone who grows Wensleydales in Sussex and the illustrious and amazing yarn is really something else.

Your legwarmers look enviably cool and are doubtless *incredible* to the touch. Did you find the Wensleydale yarn significantly more amazing to knit with?

Love from Ireland xx

'Knitting in a bush' is a classic and one of my favorites.
Legwarmers rule, must knit myself some.
Only thing is I'm not very good at knitting two of the same thing, so might have trouble, or one cold leg!
